Our Fifth Year Anniversary

We celebrated our fifth year anniversary at the Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa. The Philippines’ premier five-star resort, Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa Cebu is a lush garden retreat ideal for vacationers and families. This Cebu luxury resort features kid's play areas, a wide range of restaurants, and CHI, one of the largest and most luxurious spas in the region. We had a fantastic time at the resort and it was a great way to spend our anniversary there.

Since we didn't go to the Island where my other siblings live, I just asked them to come to Cebu and spent a day with them.

It took us almost 4 hours to sort/distribute their goodies that we got for them... We had so much fun though. I'm grateful to have the ability to help them in anyway we can.

Family Home Evening In The Park

At night, together with some friends we did family home evening at IT Park. It was so much fun! We played a lot of games and then have McDonald for dinner. Another fun day at the paradise indeed!

Aaron wasn't sure the first time she met Lola but he did fine after a few minutes... Lola was so happy to meet them in person. Look at the smile in her face.. PRICELESS!

This is my mother, she is 72 years old and we're glad she is still around..

Since it's a Sunday we didn't do anything except went to church. After church we took a rest and spent time with family.

Here's Aaron's way of relaxing...What a silly boy!

ACE 10th Year Anniversary

ACE celebrated their 10th year anniversary on June 5th which was a good timing that we were there too. As I mentioned before, I was one of their alumni (Batch 12) and it was a great privilege for me to be part of the Academy.

The celebration was a whole day event , National Conference (8:00-3;00pm) then Gala Night (6:00-10:00pm). We were able to attend both and it was nice to be inspired once again by the workshops and listening to the speakers. I was glad we were in the Philippines to attend this important event.

CEBU CITY TAOIST TEMPLE

My friend Sariah drove us around and we went to see the Cebu City Taoist Temple and Cebu City Zoo. Russ took most of the pictures and I might have to post them later once I'll get them..

Located in the wealthy residential suburb of Beverly Hills about 6 km north of downtown Cebu is an enormous Taoist Temple. It was built by Cebu's substantial Chinese community (the Chinese make up about 15% of Cebu's population).

The temple is the a center of worship for Taoism, the religion which follows the teachings of the ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao Tze. You can see Taoist devotees following their rituals on Wednesdays and Sundays, as they climb the 99 steps of the temple to light joss sticks and have their fortunes read by the monks.

Built in 1972, the Taoist Temple is constructed in a highly ornate and, some would say, gaudy style of Chinese architecture, and is topped with a pagoda-style roof.

The temple has an elevation of 300 meters above sea level, and if you climb the 99 steps to the entrance, you will be rewarded with a good view of Cebu City and in the distance Mactan and Bohol islands.

Cebu City ZOO

We had our lunch/dinner at Manila Foodshoppe @ ParkMall. Their food was really good and very reasonable prices.
