We were planning on going to Six Flags @ Magic Mountain today, but we decided to change our plans since we're too tired to wake up too early. We've been waking up early for a few days now and Russ has been driving for 6 or so hours for the past 2 days. We just decided to relax early in the hotel since tomorrow will be another busy day for us. We got Andrew a race track so he can have something to play with his cars on. He loves it a lot and he played with it for hours...

We dropped the kids around noon, their mom is happy to have them of course and she's glad we allowed them to spend Christmas & New Year with her. After dropping them off and taking care of our business stuff we stopped for lunch @ Russ's favorite noodle house in Milpitas.

After eating lunch we went straight to Oakland Temple Visitor’s Center. We did a tour on their Limited Exhibit of "The Healing Power Of Jesus Christ" 13 original sculptures by Angela Johnson. Before the guided tour we watched a short video of her testimony about her artworks. I was moved by her testimony. Her sculptures are beautiful and when I looked at them, they seemed real to me. Taking pictures of the sculptures is not allowed that's why I don't have any but you can visit her website and see her sculptures here .

We then took pictures of the Oakland California Temple.

Here's some picture of the scenic overlook from the temple. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge. It was beautiful.

We woke up early this morning (4:00AM) and started our adventure. After 11 hours of driving we stopped in one of the hotels in Bakersfield California. We have to take I-15 to California since there's no CNG gas to get us across Nevada the other way. It wasn't too bad of a drive for 11 hours with all the kids in the car. Andrew did a pretty good job, he was just observing and talking a lot what he could see from outside.
Tomorrow we'll have to drive for another 5 hours before dropping the 3 kids off then we'll be off to our fun vacation!
Andrew loves his Ate (Jessica). In many Filipino homes (including ours), a certain hierarchy denotes sibling nomenclature. The eldest brother is called Kuya and the eldest sister is called Ate. They always have fun playing together, even though with their age gap (10 years) they relate each other pretty well. Jessica is a good sister to him and Andrew loves her.

Here's some pictures I took while catching them playing. They had a lot of fun!

Tonight was our ward Christmas party. We had dinner and enjoyed visiting with some of our friends. Santa came and the small kids had the opportunity to meet him and sit on his lap. Andrew loves Santa Claus a lot! Every time he sees one he wants to go sit on his lap. There's one obvious reason why he loves Santa. He loves to have the candy cane that Santa gives away.:)
