Since Jessica had spring break (April 5-April 9) we decided to go out of town for a few days and saw a few places we wanted to see. I'm grateful for my husband who's willing to drive us around when we want to..

I'm glad the kids were doing good despite the long hours in the road. Our first stop was Jollibee to have lunch. The kids love Jollibee and after lunch we went shopping at Seafood City.

The kids had a lot of fun especially the boys. We got them a few toys an am glad they got along well. It's fun to watch them together play.

The next day we went to Saint George and we stopped at the Saint George
Temple and Visitor
Center. I got the chance to see one of my Mission President,
Pres. & Sis Bowen. I had a great
time visiting. We also Stopped at the
Brigham Young Winter Home.

We also stopped at the Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum . The
Rosenbruch World Wildlife Museum is a
new world class
facility of over 25,000 sq. ft. allowing visitors to experience
over 300 species of
wildlife throughout the world in their
natural habitat. Nearly a quarter mile of mountain pathway
(suitable for handicap access) winds its way through the plains
of Africa, the forests of North
America, and the mountains of
Asia.

Then we went to see the Saint George Dinosaur Discovery at
Johnson Farm. The Saint George
Dinosaur Discovery Site at
Johnson Farm houses exceptionally well preserved dinosaur
tracks,
fossil fish, fossil plants, rare dinosaur remains,
invertebrates traces and important sedimentary
structures..

We also visited the Silver Reef or known as Ghost Town. Silver Reef was discovered between 1866 and 1870 (There are many different stories about th founding of this town) However in 1874 a man named William T Barbee is credited with getting the mining going. In 1875 he had 22 claims here. In 1876 Silver Reef became an established town. Main street was over a mile long. Silver Reef had over 2000 people living here. There were hotels, 9 stores, 6 saloons, a bank, several restaurant, a ospital, 2 dance halls, 2 news papers, a china town and 3 cemeteries. In 1891 the last mine shut down, about 25 million dollars worth of ore had been taken from the mines here. Between 1891 and 1901 another $250,000 of ore was taken out of the area. The old Wells Fargo Express office is on the National Historical Register and is now a museum. The old bank is now a gift shop. Some of the area has been preserved for its history and is worth visiting. A lot of the surrounding areas of the old town are now homes and housing developments and are restricted to public access.

On our last we went to Zion National Park.

Located in Washington, Iron and Kane Counties in Southwestern Utah, Zion National Park encompasses some of the most scenic canyon country in the United States. The park is characterized by high plateaus, a maze of narrow, deep sandstone canyons and striking rock towers and mesas.

Zion National Park is a showcase of geology. Geologic processes have played an important role in shaping Zion. The arid climate and sparse vegetation allow the exposure of large expanses of bare rock and reveal the park’s geologic history.

We had a fun vacation indeed and I am always grateful for the time we spent together as a family.
