We had a ward pool party last night at Layton Surf and Swim. The party was supposed to be from 7-10pm but we were forced to end an hour early because of the thunderstorm that was on it's way. We invited 2 of our our non-member friends to come with us and everybody had a lot of fun!

My friends and I love to play Deal or No Deal. Everytime we go to Classic Fun Center we always play Deal or No Deal and we always have a lot of fun! Actually there's a filipino version of this game hosted by Kris Aquino and it is different than the US version. Probably the most unique thing about Kapamilya Deal Or No Deal is the dancing models, called the 26K. Instead of just walking down stairs, the Philippine 26K actually do a little dance as they present the cases. Dance plays a huge part of KDOND, as it does in most Philippine game shows. Adding to the high energy, there is a house DJ that plays music throughout the ep and makes everyone in the studio dance if the contestant finds a low valued suitcase.

I got an email from one of the sisters in the ward asking for those of us who are willing and able to fast and pray for one sister in our ward who had a stroke and had been in and out of the hospital. I don't know and I haven't heard the name of this sister before (we've been in nursery for almost a year now) but I wanted to do it and I asked Russ if he would be willing too. I felt it's the least we can do as members of the ward. So after we closed our fasting, we went for a date while the other 3 kids had their Mutual activity. I got another gift card from My Points and we used it to eat at Olive Garden. I had a Herb-Grilled Salmon, Russ had the "Tour Of Italy" and Andrew had Macaroni & Cheese from their kids menu. Russ liked his food but I didn't like it that much. I'm not really a big fan of Italian food mainly because of the spices they put in their food. We enjoyed our time together though. Here's some pictures we took! Thanks for stopping by!

Last night, I read to Andrew the book "If I Were A Moose". That was the first time I read this book to him and he loved it! This book is really cute and i think that it is a very good book for young kids.
The heart of this story is the unconditional love that Momma has for Coopie. Throughout this story, Momma demonstrates her love in many situations. Young children will find a consistent and clear message: A parent's love for a child is never-ending no matter what the child is like at any given moment.

Coopie and Momma went walking to the market. It was cold outside and it took a lot of imagination to keep warm.

Coopie had a lot of imagination.

Coopie asked Momma,
“If I were a moose, do you know what would you do?
“I’d get some antlers and a fury coat, too.
Then Move into the woods to be with you!”

“If I were a kite, would you fly up high with me?”
“Oh yes!” momma said, ‘And we could dance up in the clouds and soar across the sea!”

Coppie thought for a while, then asked Momma, “If I were an angry dog and growled and barked all day… then what would you say?”
“I’d say, “My goodness aren’t you grouchy! But you just bark away! Even when you are a grouch, I love you more each day.”

“If I were a squirrel, do you know what you would be?”
If you were a squirrel, I think I’d be a tree, So you could sleep right in my arms and play all over me.”

At the market, Coopie wondered a lot of things.
“would you chase me from the grocery store if I were a hungry dinosaur?”
“Oh no,” Momma said, “I’d make sure you got enough to eat. Then we’d top it off with something sweet.”
Coppie liked being a dinosaur.

Coppie and Momma had all their groceries and started walking home.
“If I were a pigeon, would you make me fly away?”
“I’d rather be the lady who feeds you everyday.”

“If I were a rainbow, Momma, then what would you be?”
“I’d be the sun and shine on you for everyone to see.”

“If I were a shadow, would I be as tall as you?”
“Maybe yes and maybe no since I would be a shadow one, too!”

“If I were a parakeet, then what would you do?”
“I think I’d be a cockatoo and fly away with you!”

Coopie imagined more and wondered what else was to be.. a fish, a pig, a movie star…a fence, a cow, a racing car.
“There are so many thing to be,” thought Coopie, “and there is only one of me!”

Coopie and Momma unloaded the groceries in the kitchen.
And Coopie kept on wondering.
“If I were a tummy, do you know what would you be?”
“I’d be a couple of fingers and tickle you like this…See?
Momma ticked Coopie and they both laughed and giggled.

Then they snuggled on the sofa for a long time.
“Momma?”
“Yes, Coopie?”
“What if I were Coopie and nothing else but me?”
“I can’t think of anything that I would rather be besides my Coopie’s Momma in Coopie’s family,”

Then Momma gave Coopie a big hug and a kiss. Coopie liked that.

After reading the book and when I was about to turn the light off so Andrew can go to bed, he was asking me “Mommy, If I were a fishy then what would you be?”
“ I would be an ocean so you can swim in me.” That’s my answer to him and I gave him a hug and kissed him goodnite!

We invited the missionaries (Elder Eves from Louisiana and Elder Chlarkston from Illinois) to join us for dinner and our family home evening. We asked them to share their experiences and testimonies. We had a great family night ! We love having the missionaries over and the spirit that they bring into our house when they come...
Here's some pictures we took.. Have fun looking!

In case you're some of you are wondering why there's more kids. That's Nathan and David. I had to babysit them while their parents are taking their visitors from the Philippines to Antelope Island.
